President Trump launched a toll-free hotline in coordination with the opening of the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office Tuesday. The office is intended to “support victims of crimes committed by criminal aliens through access to information and resources,”- yet another thinly veiled attempt to discriminate and criminalize immigrants.
Here is the fun part
The hotline has been trolled by people calling in to report crimes committed by space aliens. Why don’t I ever come up with stuff like that?
anyway, I think it is hilarious and if you are in the mood for a bit of trolling call here: 1-855-488-6423 to report a space alien crime.
If you didn’t make it to the March for Science – or if you did make it and have ore energy left to march: here is a very worthy one to participate in:
People’s Climate Movement Sister March – San Jose, CA
more info can be found here.
Please call your rep today and ask him/her to stop the. we did it before, we can do it again. Since our reps are likely to oppose this healthcare bill anyway (they did before) maybe they can convince their more liberal republican colleagues to not sign onto a healthcare bill that will harm their constituents by taking healthcare away from them.
After the flurry of activity yesterday designed to overwhelm us, there will be more action items over the next day address those issues, including the review of the Antiquities act, tax reform, etc. – I am loosing track of it all, sigh.
Congress is “debating ” removing lands from our national parks, removing national monuments, etc. If you care about these lands remaining available to the public for their stated uses, start calling, writing, etc.
1906 Antiquities Act repeal which means drilling for oil and gas, displacing wildlife, fish, vegetation, and areas used for other recreation.
Background via wiki:
The Antiquities Act of 1906, (Pub.L. 59–209, 34 Stat. 225, 54 U.S.C. § 320301–320303), is an act passed by the United States Congress and signed into law by Theodore Roosevelt on June 8, 1906. This law gives the President of the United States the authority to, by presidential proclamation, create national monuments from federal lands to protect significant natural, cultural, or scientific features. The Act has been used over a hundred times since its passage. Its use occasionally creates significant controversy. On April 26, 2017, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to review the Antiquities Act.
An article is here that gives a voice to the opponents of designating Bears Ear and Grand Stair Case in Utah both of which could loose their status under Trump.
Here is the link for the EPA page where they are seeking comments on the roll-back of regulations as per trumps EO.
Please take the time to leave a comment, I just did and it does not take long. So far there are 24, 135 including mine. It should be many more. This is the time to let #45 know that we do not agree.
Please pass on and get your friends and family to comment as well.
A federal judge has blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order targeting so-called “sanctuary” jurisdictions.
U.S. District Judge William Orrick issued the ruling Tuesday, less than two weeks after he heard the case in federal court.
The order, issued by Trump in January, threatened to pull federal funding from cities that refused to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.

It has gotten awfully quiet with regards to any progress onlooking into Russia interfering with our election and democracy. I heard an interview with Independent Agnus King, Senator of Maine, this morning who said that there is no reason for concerns, things take a long time and they are in the info gathering phase. No that might be true but we want them to get through that phase and onto the next in a speedy way. Also concerns about the independence of that House Committee is doubtful
So today’s action item is to call our senators and tell them that you want an independent, nonpartisan commission to investigate the Russian interference.
Let’s keep at it! No letting up, we need to be in for the long haul.
Today’s daily action is simple: tell your senators that funding for border wall and deportation force is totally off the table in the budget.
